DESCRIPTION:
Immunoblot detection is a widely used technique for analyzing proteins. While radioactive
detection systems may be hazardous and time consuming, colorimetric substrates tend to fade
with time and exposure to light and lack sensitivity. ECL reagent uses a light emitting nonradioactive
method for detection of immobilized specific antigens, directly or indirectly with
Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) labeled antibodies. The ECL reagent kit is a highly sensitive
nonradioactive, enhanced luminol-based chemiluminescent substrate for the detection of
horseradish peroxidase (HRP) on immunoblots. This ECL reagent kit enables the detection of
picogram amounts of antigen and allows for easy detection of HRP using photographic or other
imaging methods. Blots can be repeatedly exposed to X-ray film to obtain optimal results or
stripped of the immunodetection reagents and re-probe
FEATURES:
1. Economical- costs less than other chemiluminescent system
2. Longer and more intense light emission- extends over a working day
3. Requires lower antibody concentration
4. Option to reactivate after original signal is depleted
5. The option to adjust exposure time for optimum
detection of target antigens, allowing exposure time
from several seconds to several minutes
6. Suitable for NC & PVDF membranes
